well, there wasn't much environment to take pictures of, considering it was a desert and an ocean, pretty much, and I'm not uploading pictures of my pale butt in a bikini (before I'm 50 and become nostalgic), but here's one of me practicing kite-surfing (completely SFW, I'm covered up in "heavy" gear). Is kinda difficult taking pictures of I imagine, things go pretty quickly and most of the stuff happens 500 metres off shore.

Hehe, must have been fun - I'd have probably been too scared to even try it though :D

I get sunburned even with heavy-duty sunblock and staying out of the sun, it sucks.

Gahhh, Tzu, your inbox is full, so I guess I'll post it here:

I've decided to withdraw from the workshop because I'm paranoid about the possibility of someone stealing my work. I think the workshop is an awesome idea, it's just that I'm concerned about plagiarism. I thought about adding beeping noises to the music occasionally, but there's probably a way to remove the beeps. (I don't really think someone would go to any measures to do that, but then again, I'm paranoid, so...) I'll still take part in the thread (because it's awesome!), but just as a bystander, and I'll definitely post my video when it's finished.

oh, sorry about that, it fills up so quickly >.<'

I understand your concern, and it's entirely up to you. Of course, I always thought it was rathermore secure to post progress and ideas here, both to claim them as your own and to have others be witness to who the work belongs to in case it gets stolen. I can't keep you from doing what you want though, of course, and I'll be happy to see your finished work all the same! ^^

Hmm...that's a good point. I think I'm being unrealistic too, so here's my progress: http://picosong.com/wYk/

Anyone think I should leave out the last little bit (from the GW2 trailer)? I was thinking about taking that out & adding the GW:EN theme, but I don't want it to be too long, so idk.

hmm, I don't know, it's really original of you to add the GW2 bit so I think you should keep it. I must admit I didn't reckognize it at first though, but that's probably just me.
I think it needs a little more "wintersday feeling" (xmas feeling). Part of what was so great about your last entry was how it so beautifully unfolded a winter wonderland in all our minds, but this one is a bit lacking in that department so far, in my opinion. Listen to some xmas carols (the real classics) and see if you can somehow mix a few of those in somewhere, I think it would make for a unique and exiting twist.

I really wish I could do Tasca's Theme again now that I learned how to bow the piano, but since I did that one last year, I probably wouldn't be allowed to repeat it (even though it'd be spread across a few instruments). I'll look around for some carols, and see what I can do. Thanks for the feedback.

EDIT: When you said you didn't recognize it, were you talking about the GW2 trailer music, or the second song as a whole?

Thanks! I'm actually thinking about removing the second song anyways (the piano strings just don't have the same effect that actual string instruments have in that song); I may do a Wintersday variant of some Factions music instead (I'm in a Factions mood). Thanks for sending me the links, btw; I may use a little bit of Silent Night (I don't know where to put it atm, but I love that song, so I'll probably use some of it). I think would make a really effective ending (that's the last song we sing at my church during the Christmas service), so I'll see how I can make it feel like Guild Wars music as well.

EDIT: Alright, I've figured out what I'm arranging. The arrangement will be called "Kainengtah" (the last month of the Canthan calendar), and it'll consist of bits of the following "Droknar's Forge," "Ascension Song," "Guild Wars Factions Theme," the Guild Wars 2 trailer, and probably "Silent Night" @ the end.

A belated welcome back to you Tzu.

@Shew, I really like that rendition. It has a nice Christmassy (would that be Wintersdayey?) feeling to it simply because of the piano. But that might just be me since my mom plays the piano most around Christmas.

Here's a largish update on mine. I finally gave me Ele a head! I still need to decorate the tree and get on with the task of drawing my other characters... in which is quite daunting. >_< I'm also going to add some grass and snow drifts sticking up out of the ground so it doesn't look like a sheet of marble.

That looks great, Operative! I really like how you can see a little bit of the sky through the trees.

The falling snow is just a 10% monochromatic Gaussian noise, brightness turned down, contrast up, then expand the size of the layer until it looked right. Sort of similar to the first part of the procedure here. The snow on the ground was just a Filter > Render > Clouds with a light and dark grey, then I just distorted it so that the foreground was much wider than the background. That's in Photoshop Elements, don't know what it would be in other programs or versions.
